Cancer Fit Trainer Certification

In partnership with Livestrong, become a Cancer Fit Trainer and specialize in working with cancer survivors who are in long-term follow-up care. Each year, nearly 2 million people are diagnosed with cancer in the US. The long-term physical and psychological side effects of cancer negatively impact the cancer survivor’s quality of life, causing cancer to be classified as a chronic disease by the Centers of Disease Control. Studies have reported a fivefold increase in mortality in patients who are inactive during remission, further highlighting the need to make cancer-specific exercise programs readily available to all those who face cancer. This certification focuses on designing exercise programs that help survivors maintain their fitness, reduce the risk of cancer recurrence, and manage long-term treatment effects.
